A rare six-bottle vertical collection of Rockford Basket Press Shiraz, featuring one 750ml bottle from each vintage between 2014 and 2019. Sourced from established Barossa vineyards and made in Rockford’s traditional style, Basket Press is widely regarded as one of Australia’s benchmark Shiraz wines.
This collection brings together six consecutive vintages, offering collectors the opportunity to compare seasonal variation, maturity and development across an acclaimed period for this iconic Barossa label.
Basket Press Shiraz is assembled from parcels of Barossa fruit, including material from old, dry-grown vineyards cultivated by long-established grape-growing families. Traditional open fermentation and extended maturation in American and French oak contribute depth and savoury complexity while allowing the character of the fruit and vintage to remain central.
2014 Vintage — 99 Points, James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion

Quintessential Basket Press, bowing to no passing fad or fancy… It’s a manifestation of the wine it contains, always very good, this vintage outstanding… Its balance, mouthfeel and silky purple and black fruits are perfect.
2015 Vintage — 97 Points, James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion
Published 12 July 2021
Nearly 30 parcels of old, dry-grown fruit from some of the finest grape-growing families in the Barossa. Open-fermented and matured in American and French oak for nearly 2 years… This is fruit talking, not alcohol, not oak, not rough tannins.
2016 Vintage — James Suckling
Tasted August 2020
This is a beautifully ripe, composed and flavorful edition of Basket Press that has all the classic hallmarks of blackberries, earth, leather, cedar and tar. The palate has very supple, enveloping tannins.
2017 Vintage — 97 Points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review
Tasted 02 August 2024
Blackberry, black olive, tar, forest-floor and licorice aromas, a note of roasting meats emerging with age. Very intense and well concentrated palate flavour, deep and long with masses of supple, velvety tannins.

Tasting this graceful Barossa Valley shiraz is like stepping into a time machine back to the region in the 1950s or early 1960s. I love the wide array of ripe yet delicate red fruit aromas and the layered fine tannins that give this enormous textural complexity.
2018 Vintage — 97 Points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review
Tasted 18 November 2021
Full-bodied and gently chocolaty, with lovely soft texture and a savoury kind of richness, the finish long, with an appropriate touch of firmness at the end. Seamless texture and flavour.
Drinking Window: 2021–2033

2019 Vintage — 95 Points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review
Tasted 06 November 2022
Deep, bold red colour laced with purple; plum pudding, fruitcake and subtle herb aromas, a suggestion of roasting meats… There is a restrained fruit sweetness at its core, and appealing balance in the flavour, bouquet and mouth-feel.
Drinking Window: 2022–2037
2019 Vintage — 93 Points, The Wine Front
