2026 Grosset 'Alea' Off-Dry Riesling 750ml

Overview

Alea is Grosset's European-inspired expression of Riesling from the biodynamically farmed Rockwood Vineyard in Watervale, Clare Valley. The 2026 release is the seventeenth vintage from this site, combining fragrant florals, kaffir lime and pink grapefruit with subtle generosity, textural depth and a crisp, building finish.

Vineyard

The Riesling comes from Grosset's Rockwood Vineyard in the Watervale sub-region of Clare Valley. Established in 2001, the vineyard is now 25 years old. The site includes a 300-metre corridor of hard red rock with poor orange-red topsoil, initially considered an unlikely place for Riesling but selected by Jeffrey Grosset for its potential. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically and forms part of Grosset's ACO Certified Organic and Biodynamic vineyards and winery.

Winemaking

The Riesling is hand harvested and made without fining. Grosset employs what it describes as a more European winemaking approach for Alea, designed to bring out the distinctive expression of the Rockwood Vineyard.
