The 2025 Jim Barry The Lodge Hill Dry Riesling comes from one of Clare Valley's highest vineyard sites, planted at 480 metres above sea level on the eastern ranges of Clare. Jim Barry purchased the Lodge Hill vineyard in 1977, convinced it could produce some of the finest Riesling in the region.
The altitude, concentrated sunlight and cool nights encourage slow ripening, preserving natural acidity and building the pure citrus profile that defines classic Clare Valley Riesling.
Tasting Notes
A lifted and aromatic bouquet bursts with concentrated lime juice and kaffir lime zest, supported by notes of sweet cut grass and delicate spice.
The palate is electric and precise, opening with concentrated lime cordial before moving into a sweet-fruited mid-palate. Clean, focused acidity drives a long, mouthwatering finish.
Winemaking
Gentle pressing and a rapid transfer into fermentation help preserve the natural fruit flavours and bright aromatic detail of the Riesling.
