Overview

Sanguine Estate Progeny Shiraz is a trophy-winning Heathcote red named after founders Lyn and Tony Hunter’s children, Mark and Jodi. Predominantly Shiraz with approximately 2% to 3% Viognier, it combines perfumed aromatics, concentrated dark fruit and a lush, approachable palate with the structure to mature for more than a decade.

Producer Tasting Notes

Impressive deep ruby red. A classic progeny with a touch of Viognier giving this Shiraz a violet lift with ripe plum and blueberry fruit. A complex wine with rich ripe fruit and dried herbs notes. Lush and soft palate that drinks well now but will reward the patient.

A strikingly deep purple in the glass surrounded by a swathe of dark spices, dark fruits and oh-so bright and lasting drinking pleasure … engaging fragrant perfume, generosity of Heathcote black fruits, spice, light savoury nuance, beautifully balanced tannins and just its overall joie de vivre.

Dense, dark and youthful in the glass. Lifted aromas of blackberry, mulberry, ferrous earth, dried flowers, spice and dried herbs. Full-flavoured, with lashings of dark fruits, spice, firm, granular tannins and a lick of nutty oak. Long, layered and smart value.
