A fruit-driven, medium-bodied Grenache made without added preservatives or other winemaking additions. Produced from sustainably grown Blewitt Springs fruit, PF is crafted for youthful enjoyment, allowing vibrant berry flavours, spice and natural texture to take centre stage.
Yangarra Estate is situated in elevated Blewitt Springs at the northern edge of McLaren Vale. Its ancient geology, sandy soils and Mediterranean climate provide excellent conditions for expressive southern Rhône varieties, particularly Grenache.
The Grenache comes from vase-shaped bush vines planted in 2007 on North Maslin Sands, a geological formation approximately 54 million years old. The vineyard lies around 180 metres above sea level and is cultivated without herbicides, fungicides or synthetic chemicals.
The 2022 season followed similar conditions to 2021 but was slightly cooler. Favourable winter rainfall and mild conditions during flowering and fruit set were followed by a cool ripening period from late January through March. Balanced yields delivered fruit with ripeness, intensity, freshness and natural acidity.
The fruit was harvested on 30 March and 2 April 2022.
The fruit was hand-picked, destemmed and selectively sorted, with a large proportion of whole berries retained. It was transferred into open-top fermenters, gradually warmed and fermented with wild yeast. After a long, gentle maceration, the wine was pressed and matured for five months in stainless steel.
No additions were used at any stage of production, including sulphur, acid, tannin or fining agents. The wine was bottled in October 2022.
Producer Winemaker Note
The PF is a fruit driven, medium bodied Grenache that is intentionally produced to be enjoyed in its youth… No additions of any kind are used in the winemaking process, such as sulphur, acid, tannin or finings, to allow the pure fruit to shine in the glass with minimal interventions.

Such a pretty hue captures the eye but there is some heft in the glass. Scents of dried petals, baked blueberries, boysenberry, licorice and dusty earth file through and add the detail… Soft tannins, almost powdery, make a late surge as baking spices make a final statement. It's a tidy wine that is sure to please.

You’ll find the Yangarra generosity here in a spiced laden Grenache full of blackberries, blueberries and prune plums. There is a boysenberry jam kick with clove, bay leaf and bitter cocoa. The wine is slippery on the palate with powdery tannins and a juicy frame.

Meaty, nutty, floral, cherry and blueberry. It’s fleshy, grainy, lots of flavour, some chicory-like bitterness, raspberry and pomegranate, plenty of grainy and textural chew to it, with a tangy sour cherry and blackberry finish of good length.
