A powerful and age-worthy Heathcote Shiraz from Wild Duck Creek Estate, the Reserve is produced with meticulous vineyard selection and intensive winemaking. The 2022 vintage combines concentrated dark fruit with savoury, mineral and earthy complexity, supported by firm structure and a long finish.
Viticulture
The vineyards are carefully managed through hard cane pruning, spring shoot thinning and under-vine mulching. Fruit thinning may also be carried out at veraison where required to control yields and improve bunch separation.
Winemaking
The Shiraz is partly destemmed, with up to 50% whole bunches used during fermentation to build texture while moderating fermentation speed and temperature. The wine is basket pressed into 100% new French oak barriques and matured for up to 27 months, depending on the vintage.

James Suckling
“There is a reductive theme running through the top-end 2022 bottlings from this address, beautifully complemented by the cooler season, which brings savory and mineral-edged complexity… offering a plush structured mouthfeel and a long, earth-driven finish.” Tasted September 2025
