Yarra Yering Carrodus Viognier is a concentrated, cellar-worthy expression from a dedicated parcel planted in 1982. Whole-bunch pressing and oak maturation combine Viognier’s generous fruit and aromatic character with freshness, structure and balance.
Vineyard and Winemaking
The Viognier vines were planted in 1982 in the Yarra Valley. The fruit was whole-bunch pressed directly to oak, creating a textured and complex white wine with excellent varietal character.

“From vines planted in 1982. Whole-bunched pressed to oak. Interestingly, the skins are frozen to be used in the Dry Red No 2. A bright green gold. Marzipan, cumquat marmalade, candied ginger and lemongrass can all be found in this round, generously flavoured yet well-balanced wine.”

“Pale straw and bright in the glass. Lifted and complex aromas of just-ripe stone fruit, well and truly in the white peach and nectarine zone. … The acid is fine and pointed and there’s a nice kick of savoury, phenolic grip giving plenty of drive and purpose.” Recommended Drinking Window: 2022-2029
