About This Wine
This Cabernet Sauvignon is produced in Hebei, China, with a focus on preserving the pure varietal aroma and palate expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The wine is matured using older oak barrels used over five years to maintain balance and avoid excessive creamy oak character.
Tasting Notes
Subtle floral aromas on opening, followed by blackberry, forest berries, cream, and cheesecake notes. The palate shows gentle blueberry nuances, with a light, smooth, and balanced texture that is easy to drink yet layered.
About the Winery
After returning to China in 2019, the Shofang brand was re-established, with the founder serving as both brand principal and winemaker.
The winemaker graduated from Northwest A&F University in 2011 and worked in Yunnan with red and sparkling wine production. In 2013, further studies in winemaking and viticulture were undertaken at the University of Adelaide, with experience gained at Primo Estate in McLaren Vale.
Extensive regional travel and winemaking practice followed, including work in Qinhuangdao, focusing on local rose-scented grapes and regional fruit to explore new expressions beyond traditional dry red styles.
