Based in Prémeaux-Prissey, Domaine Prieuré-Roch is a prestigious wine estate formed in 1988 by the late Henry-Frédéric Roch. Henry, who sadly passed away in 2018, was the nephew Lalou Bize-Leroy and also the co-director â€?along with Aubert de Villaine â€?of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti from 1992 until his untimely death. Today, the estate covers approximately 16 hectares of vines of which 12 are in the Côte de Nuits. The winemaking philosophy at the domaine is built upon an organic approach to viticulture. The result are wines of extraordinary aromatics and energy, with remarkable acidity and ripe, complex fruits. This particular cuvée comes from the lieu-dit ‘Les Hautes Maizièresâ€?situated just below the premier cru ‘Les Suchotsâ€? Here the domaine cultivates a 0.62-hectare plot, where the vines are approximately 45 years old. A limited production of 2,000 bottles.
