The oldest vineyards in the Old Vine Trio, with planted in 1893, the Kaesler Old Bastard Shiraz is one of Australia’s most collected wines and is considered a benchmark for premium Barossa Shiraz around the world.
Drinking Window: 2022-2040
A full and fruity Shiraz, Kaesler Old Bastard is fresh on the nose with hints of blackberries, raspberries and blueberries. On the palate, forest fruits, blackberry and mulberry mingle with spices of anise and nutmeg with some coffee and chocolate notes. Tannins are silky and balanced, with a nice acidity. This shiraz will cellar for 20+ years.
Fresh and fruit driven with blackberries, raspberries and blueberries, some cherry notes on the nose. A combination of forest fruits with blackberries and mulberries on the palate. Savoury, aromatic spices of anise and nutmeg, with some coffee and chocolate notes. Silky, delicate tannins; good acidity and well balanced.Â
