Appearance
Deep crimson red with youthful purple hues.
Aroma
Expressive aromas of blackberry, dark cherry, blueberry and plum are layered with cracked black pepper, liquorice, dark chocolate, cedar, star anise and exotic spice. Subtle hints of dried herbs and savoury earthiness add further complexity.
Palate
Rich, concentrated and full-bodied, showcasing ripe dark berry fruits supported by silky tannins and vibrant natural acidity. The cooler vintage character brings elegance and precision, balancing the wine's generous fruit weight and intensity.
Finish
Long, persistent and beautifully structured, with lingering notes of dark berries, peppery spice, cedar and finely integrated oak.
Fruit for the 2016 Grains of Paradise Shiraz was sourced from selected low-yielding Barossa Valley vineyards. Traditional fermentation techniques were employed to preserve varietal character and regional expression before maturation in French oak barrels.
