A highly sought-after Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru from Domaine Georges & Christophe Roumier. The 2011 combines the power and structure associated with Bonnes-Mares with Roumier’s characteristic finesse, fragrance and persistence. With 97 points from Tim Atkin and multiple 95-point reviews, the wine is now entering a mature drinking phase while retaining significant cellar potential.
Bonnes-Mares is one of the two Grand Cru vineyards associated with Chambolle-Musigny, lying at the northern end of the village beside Morey-Saint-Denis. Roumier’s holdings encompass both principal soil types of the vineyard: the upper “Les Terres Blanches”, with calcareous marl rich in fossil material, and the lower “Les Terres Rouges”, with clay-limestone soils over compact Bathonian limestone.
The two terroirs contribute contrasting elements to the finished wine. Les Terres Rouges brings richness, texture and red to dark fruit, while Les Terres Blanches contributes spice, floral character and minerality. The components are vinified separately before being brought together for ageing and bottling.
The combination of the two terroirs gives Bonnes-Mares a distinctive balance of creaminess and structure, fruit and minerality, bringing together the power associated with Morey-Saint-Denis and the aromatic complexity of Chambolle-Musigny.

“Really gorgeous breadth and balance with fruit and freshness … wonderful depth and persistence.”
Domaine Georges Roumier is based in Chambolle-Musigny and is one of Burgundy’s most sought-after domaines. Christophe Roumier leads the estate today, continuing a terroir-focused approach in which new oak is used with restraint and vinification is handled to preserve fragrance, delicacy and individual vineyard character.
