This 2010 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes from one of Louis Jadot's historic CĂ´te de Beaune holdings, a south-facing parcel in the heart of the appellation near Corton Pougets. Produced entirely from Chardonnay, it combines the concentration and stature of Corton-Charlemagne with traditional barrel fermentation and extended lees ageing. The vintage received 96 points from Wine Enthusiast.
Louis Jadot described 2010 as an unpredictable and challenging Burgundy vintage, marked by a long, cold winter, uneven flowering and reduced yields. Improved conditions later in the season allowed the fruit to reach good maturity, with the resulting wines showing considerably more promise than initially expected. Harvest began on 21 September.
The Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru appellation spans Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses in the northern CĂ´te de Beaune. Louis Jadot's parcel is one of the house's oldest holdings, owned since the 19th century and situated in the historic heart of the appellation next to Corton Pougets. The vineyard has an ideal southern exposure.
The Chardonnay grapes were harvested by hand into small crates to preserve the integrity of the fruit, then gently pressed. Fermentation took place in oak barrels produced by Louis Jadot's own cooperage, with approximately one-third new oak. The wine was aged for around 15 months on fine lees before preparation for bottling.

Maison Louis Jadot was founded in Beaune in 1859, with the family's vineyard history extending back to the acquisition of Clos des Ursules in the 1820s. Today the house is one of Burgundy's most significant producers and négociants, with holdings and wines from many of the region's most celebrated Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards.
Louis Jadot is also closely associated with barrel maturation through its own cooperage, Cadus, established near Beaune in 1996.
