Noon Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied, cellar-worthy Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the Borrett family vineyards in Langhorne Creek. The 2003 vintage came from a very small drought-year crop and was produced entirely from the Fruit Trees block.
The 2003 Reserve Cabernet was produced from 100% Fruit Trees block fruit, from a very small crop in this drought year.
Noon has sourced Cabernet Sauvignon from the Borrett family vineyards in Langhorne Creek since the first Reserve Cabernet in 1996. The Fruit Trees, Main Road and Bore blocks are situated on deep alluvial soils with sufficient clay to retain moisture, while the relatively cool site supports slow ripening and flavour development.

“Alluring aromas of black pepper, vanilla, chalk and a streak of eucalyptus kick off this excellent wine. Tannins on the palate are still young and dominant, but the wine's attractive black plum and soil flavors will show through in a few years' time. Finishes long and smooth.”

“The wine colour looked encouragingly deep and holding a healthy red hue for its age. The aroma displayed a good intensity of blackcurrant fruit, along with developed cedar and a little peat which was attractive. The palate reflected this, retaining good freshness of fruit, along with very good depth of flavour and nice balance. Still retains firm tannins - a 2003 vintage characteristic perhaps. Very nice.”
The producer assessed the wine as ready to drink and at its peak in July 2025, while noting that a well-cellared bottle with a good cork may hold until approximately 2030.
