1996 Katnook Estate Odyssey Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

Overview

Odyssey is Katnook Estate's highly prized reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and a benchmark expression of Coonawarra's celebrated terra rossa soils. Produced from selected parcels of intensely flavoured Cabernet fruit, the 1996 vintage offers collectors a mature release from one of the region's established estates.

Vineyard and Winemaking

Fruit for Odyssey is selected from specific vineyard rows planted on rich clay loams over a thick layer of limestone. Following fermentation in headed-down fermenters, the wine is matured for approximately 36 to 40 months in new French oak. Selected parcels may receive additional oak maturation to build further complexity.
