The 1885 Seppeltsfield 100 Year Old Para Vintage Tawny is an extraordinary piece of Australian wine history, matured for a century before release. It forms part of Seppeltsfield’s remarkable tradition of preserving individual vintage Tawny wines for exceptionally long maturation, a legacy established through the vision of founder Joseph Seppelt and his eldest son, Benno Seppelt.
Centennial Cellar
Benno Seppelt established the Centennial Cellar and its remarkable system of laying down and maturing single barrels of vintage Tawny for significant ageing before release. The collection is believed to represent the world's only unbroken lineage of single-vintage wines spanning more than 130 consecutive vintages, allowing Seppeltsfield to release historic wines at major anniversaries and milestones.
Vintage & Release
The 1885 vintage was placed into barrel in 1885 and matured for 100 years. It was first released in 1997, making this an exceptionally mature and historically significant expression from Seppeltsfield’s collection.
