A rare 17-year-old Tasmanian single malt drawn from Cask Nº TD0083. Unlike Sullivans Cove’s ex-Bourbon and ex-Apera releases, this whisky matured in a 300-litre American oak hogshead that had previously held only Sullivans Cove spirit—an unusual cask style the distillery describes as “ex-Sullivans”. Filled on 15 March 2006 and decanted on 11 October 2023 after 17 years and 6 months, the cask yielded only 402 bottles at 49.5% ABV.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Murky fruity funk, sour cherries, sherbet, cinnamon, star anise, herbs, popcorn and blackcurrant.
Palate: Smooth and full-bodied, with figs, peaches, raspberry jam, nuts, quince paste and saline notes.
Sullivans Cove produces handcrafted single malt whisky in Tasmania. The distillery has committed to long-term maturation in full-size barrels since 1994, with its American oak single casks recognised for complementing the house’s distinctive fruit-forward spirit.
