About This Whisky

Laphroaig Elements 3.0 is a limited experimental release from the Islay distillery. The whisky was produced after a peat fire in the distillery’s malting kiln burned longer and hotter than usual, creating an unusually smoky batch of malt.

This highly peated malt was distilled and matured in American oak casks. The whisky is bottled at cask strength.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Charcoal smoke, chocolate, cinnamon spice, lemon zest, butterscotch and sea salt.

Palate: Powerful peat smoke with roasted cocoa beans, dark chocolate, blackberry and plum.

Finish: Lingering iodine, leather and intense smoky character.

About the Distillery

Laphroaig Distillery was founded in 1815 on the Isle of Islay in Scotland. The distillery is known for its heavily peated whisky style, produced using traditional floor maltings and water from the Kilbride Stream.
