A three piece orchestra of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. The 60% Chardonnay foms the backbone of its structure while the 35% Pinot Noir from Tours-sur-Marne, Bouzy and Ambonnay give it depth and fruit. The 5% Pinot Meunier perfects these harmonies with aromatic density. Ever approachable and consistent. This is a beautifully powerful champagne - freshness and roundness merge to deliver a clean, fruity finish, with well-balanced and elegant length on the palate. A light dosage is added to Delamotte Brut champagne after thirty-six months of maturation on the lees.
Delamotte is the 'Sister society' of Champagne Salon.
Critic tasting note: "Champagne Delamotte was one of only five Champagne houses in the mid 1700's, and remains located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs in Le Mesnil- sur-Oger. Delamotte is the sister house and contiguous to the regaled Champagne Salon, with which it shares the same viticultural, winemaking and management crew. Delamotte Brut is a blend of approximately 55% chardonnay, 35% pinot noir, and 10% meunier. The whole spends 36 months on the lees, and is dosed with 7 g/L. Brioche, crisp red and green apple, and buzzy lemon pith sails over a chalky base, with a slick of anise on the snappy, lemon twist finish. Clean, sleek, and smart, this is a welcome modern NV Brut for your rotation (and canapés hour). (Treve Ring)." - Gismondi on Wine
