About This Wine
This dry white wine is produced by Shofang in Qinhuangdao, Hebei, China, and is made from Viognier and Riesling. After crushing, the grapes are gently pressed in open basket presses to allow moderate oxidation, contributing to added complexity. Fermentation takes place in old oak barrels. Viognier undergoes partial malolactic fermentation, while Riesling does not.
Tasting Notes
The wine shows aromatics of honeysuckle, honey and floral notes, with nutty nuances. The palate is driven by bright acidity and a lean structure, layered with white peach, honey, lychee and mineral notes, leading to an extended and expressive finish.
