2023 L.A.S. TNT VINO 'TOURIGA, TINTO CAO' 750ml

Region and Vineyard

Crafted by winemaker Nic Peterkin in Margaret River, Western Australia, this unique blend pays tribute to traditional Portuguese varieties. The grapes are sourced from 40-year-old dry-grown vines planted on gravelly loam soils in Yallingup, overlooking Geographe Bay. The blend includes Touriga Nacional for structure and depth, Tinta Cão for aroma and finesse, and Souzão for color and acidity.

Winemaking

The fruit was hand-picked, chilled overnight, and carefully bunch and berry sorted. Fermentation took place in open fermenters with regular hand plunging over 20 to 30 days. The wine then matured in large-format oak barrels for 14 months, followed by three months of natural settling in stainless steel before bottling.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep ruby with purple tints.

Nose: Aromas of sweet spice, cinnamon, clove, plum compote, blueberry, and dark chocolate.

Palate: Soft, silky tannins carry flavors of red berry sweetness and cocoa, leading to a long, complex, and engaging finish.
