A distinctive single-varietal Roussanne from Yangarra Estate Vineyard in McLaren Vale. Hand-picked and basket pressed, the wine combines textured Rhône-inspired character with freshness, precision and carefully judged French oak.

Winemaking

The fruit was hand-picked and basket pressed, with a portion transferred to French oak puncheons, including 30% new oak. Spontaneous fermentation and controlled oxidative handling contribute texture, complexity and savoury depth.

Hand picked and basket pressed, partially to French puncheons (30% new), where it underwent spontaneous fermentation following controlled oxidative handling… effusive of its pithy, gingery stone fruit and rooibos exclamations. As reliant on a chewy rail of phenolics as obvious freshness, this is very good and strongly suggestive of great southern Rhône expressions.
