The 2022 Elderton Command Shiraz 750ml is a premium Barossa Valley Shiraz and one of Elderton’s most recognised flagship red wines. Produced from old Shiraz vines in Nuriootpa, Command Shiraz is known for its depth, concentration, and long-term ageing potential.
The Command vineyard is an important single-vineyard site for Elderton, producing Shiraz with strong regional identity and a powerful Barossa profile. The 2022 release reflects the richness, structure, and intensity associated with this historic vineyard.
The wine shows spiced red fruit with hints of spicy oak, supported by a deep crimson appearance and a concentrated palate. It combines dark fruit depth, oak complexity, and long tannins, giving the wine both immediate presence and cellar-worthy structure.
The vineyard is harvested over several picks to achieve balance. Fermentation includes extended time on skins, with selected parcels fermented separately before pressing to oak for maturation and final barrel selection.
The wine was matured for 24 months in new French and American oak puncheons. It can be enjoyed now or cellared confidently for 15 to 20 years from vintage.
A classic premium Barossa Shiraz for collectors and drinkers seeking depth, power, and Elderton’s signature Command vineyard character.
