Fox Creek Reserve typifies the best of McLaren Vale with this their flagship wine. This is a wine with amazing depth and richness. Flavours of blackberry cassis liquorice and dark chocolate are combined in a palate of real intensity and complexity.
The most celebrated wine of Fox Creek, first made in 1994. It has great depth of colour, aroma and flavour, typical of the best wines of the McLaren Vale region. The Reserve has an extraordinary range of flavours with blackberry, blackcurrant, liquorice and dark chocolate. The wine has a rich sweet fruit mid palate and the finish is long. While approachable when young, it is best cellared.
Appearance:
Intense deep garnet colour.
Bouquet:
Black cherries, Satsuma plums, with a hint of roast lamb and rosemary lift complemented by the complex aromas of fresh cooked pastry, cinnamon, mixed spice and roasted nuts.
Palate:
The palate is rich with plums and cherries, the raspberries, vanilla and brown spices complete the full flavoured mid palate. The wine finishes with great balance and length, and is characterised by its crisp acid and firm tannins which will soften as the wine ages.
